About Wendy Causey
I've spent five years learning how to build websites the right way — not just technically, but strategically. My degree in Applied Technology gave me the foundation. The real education came from watching capable, established business owners struggle with an online presence that didn't reflect who they actually are. Most web projects fail the client in one of two ways: they're too complicated to understand, or too generic to matter. I started Causey Web Solutions because I wanted to do it differently — take the time to understand your business, translate that clearly online, and stay involved after launch so it actually works for you. This is a small, focused practice by design. Every project is handled personally, from the first conversation to the final handoff.
Strategy, design, development, and support—personally handled.
The story behind the work
In 2014, I was widowed at 36 with six young children. Life became complicated all at once. I learned how much harder ordinary tasks feel when information is scattered, instructions are unclear, or the next step is difficult to find.
That experience shaped what I notice. I do not see navigation, page order, and mobile usability as cosmetic decisions. They determine whether someone can find what they need without carrying more frustration.
Years later, when I had the opportunity to volunteer with LDS Widows and Widowers, I wanted to build the kind of online experience I would have needed: calm, clear, and genuinely easy to use.
Clarity is not decoration. It is a form of care.
Volunteer project
I initially volunteered to create an easier-to-use website for LDS Widows and Widowers and give its main conference a clear online home.
Today I manage the site and update its design, navigation, and information as needs change. Attendees can register, see the schedule, learn about presenters, and get the details they need from a phone without digging through social posts.
In the main Facebook support group, the website is now the reference point. People use it to answer conference questions, and widowed attendees regularly praise how easy it is to read and navigate.

What the work reinforced
The volunteer project is a different kind of website, but the standard is the same one I bring to every client project.
People should understand where they are, what matters, and what to do next without decoding the page.
If someone needs information while they are away from a desk, the site still has to feel calm and complete.
Information changes. Navigation evolves. A useful site stays useful because someone is paying attention after launch.
The client experience
Before we talk about websites, we talk about your business. What you do, who you serve, and what's not working right now.
You'll know exactly what's being built, what it costs, and what to expect — before any work begins.
Every decision — design, copy, structure — is made with your customer in mind, not what's trendy.
I translate everything into plain language. You won't need to learn jargon to be involved in your own project.
Launch isn't the end. I stay available so your site keeps working as your business grows.
If you've worked with someone before and felt left in the dark, this is the alternative.
What I bring to the table
Strategy comes first. Before we talk about how your site looks, I want to understand what it actually needs to do for your business — because a website has to earn its keep, not just sit there looking nice. I'm also a developer-minded designer, so once the plan is clear, you're getting someone who understands how things work under the hood, plans intentionally, and builds with long-term stability in mind.
How it works in practice
Every project is handled personally — by me. That's not a policy. It's just how I work.
No account managers. No ticket queues. Just a direct line to the person doing the work.
