Behind the work

The Wasatch Medical Imaging project story

Wasatch Medical Imaging was a new clinic going up in Heber City. Wiring in the walls, equipment coming in, the whole thing built from nothing. An IT colleague running their network knew I did websites and put me in touch. When I started, the only thing that existed was a logo.

What they needed

A brand-new clinic has a specific problem. No reputation yet, no reviews, nobody searching for them by name. So the site had to do three jobs at once. Get found by patients nearby. Answer the questions people have before an appointment, so walking in feels like less of an unknown. And look credible enough that a stranger would trust them with something medical, before there was any track record behind them.

They also did not want online booking. They wanted to stay in control of their own schedule. Plenty of people would have sold them a booking system anyway. I told them to skip it, because it was right for how they actually run. That is the part I care about most. Not selling the thing that pads the invoice, selling the thing that serves the business.

What I built

I do not start with design. I start with questions. From the logo I drew up a few brand directions and the beginning of a brand guide, then a sitemap, then an outline for every page, all approved before I built anything.

The site you can scroll through above is the result. A homepage, a services section, an FAQ, a contact page, a resources section, and a place for referring physicians to get information they can hand their patients. The resources section holds five educational posts tied to the exact services this clinic offers, so a patient gets answers specific to this clinic, not a generic article they could read anywhere. That calms the nerves of someone who has never had a scan, and it gives the site real reasons to show up when a person searches those questions.

For credibility, with no reviews to lean on yet, I used what was real. A finished, professional site instead of a do-it-yourself look. A real photo of the building. Photos of the actual MRI machine a patient would be lying in. And on launch day I set up their Google Business Profile and Google Search Console, so from the start I could measure what was happening instead of guessing.

Four months in

The site went live in early March 2026, started at zero the way every new site does, and grew every month. Nearly 1,000 clicks and more than 10,000 impressions from search in the first four months, with traffic more than doubling from the first month to the fourth.

It owns the clinic’s name. When someone hears about Wasatch Medical Imaging and looks it up, the site is the first thing they find, and it reads like a real, established clinic. The educational approach is starting to work right where I aimed it, showing up near the top for local searches like an imaging center nearby and the specific scans people go looking for.

I will be honest about what this is. It is a strong foundation four months in, growing on its own. It is not a finished story, and there is more visibility to earn on the harder searches. But the site does what a new clinic needs first. It gets found, it answers the questions, and it looks like the real thing.
